Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this thesis was to present the diagnostic importance of methylmalonic acid and vitamin B12 in cattle with simple indigestion. For this purpose, a total of 50 cattle with different breed and ages, of which was 10 healthy (control group) and 40 with simple indigestion . The cattle were diagnosed as indigestion according to anamnesis, clinical and ruminal content examination.Blood serum samples and ruminal contents were obtained from every cattle in order to determine MMA and B12 levels. In indigestion group with weight loss, decrease in milk yield and forestomach atony; methylmalonic acid levels were higher than the animals in control group (P<0.05). In indigestion group, Vitamin B12 levels were determined lower than the control group, however this decrease was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Negative correlation was determined between MMA and Vitamin B12 in both groups. As a result; evaluating Methylmalonic acid and Vitamin B12 levels in cattle with indigetion was concluded to be important.
