Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the therapeutic effects of nanoemulsified forms of essential oils obtained from juniper (Juniperus excelsa Bieb.), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) and turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) plants on rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) weighing 5-10 grams infected with white spot (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis) were investigated. The study was conducted with 10 days of bath treatment and 14 days of oral treatment. Treatment efficacy was evaluated by malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), vitamin A and E levels, survival rate (RPS) and histopathology. According to the results obtained, juniper, rosemary and turmeric nanoemulsions were found to be 100% effective against all stages of the parasite at a concentration of 100 μl/ml in vitro and highly effective (59-83%) at a concentration of 50 μl/ml. RPS values were found to be significantly higher in the bath and oral treatment groups than in the control group (P<0.05). It was determined that MDA levels were higher in juniper and turmeric compared to rosemary in bath treatment, and in the oral treatment group, turmeric (200 μl/ml) was statistically similar to the negative control (P<0.05). It was determined that GSH levels in the bath group (rosemary and juniper 100 μl/ml), and in the oral treatment (rosemary 200 μl/ml and turmeric 100 μl/ml) concentrations were similar to the control group (P<0.05). GSH-Px levels were found to be higher in the bath group than in the control group except for both concentrations of rosemary, juniper 50 μl/ml, and turmeric 100 μl/ml, and in the oral treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). In oral treatment, it was determined that vit. E level was quite high in juniper and rosemary (100 μl/ml) and vit. A level did not change in all groups. Histopathologically, it was determined that juniper and rosemary had a more positive effect compared to formaldehyde-treated and sick fish.
