Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, it was aimed to determine the effects of some fungicides (thiram, thiram + tolclophos methyl and hymexazol) and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Glomus iranicum var. tenuihypharum combinations on the disease severity of Macrophomina phaseolina, the agent of charcoal rot and plant growth parameters in common bean. The mycorrhizal fungus G. iranicum var. tenuihypharum colonized 75.2% of common bean roots. Mycorrhizal colonization rates in plant roots to which mycorrhizal fungi were applied together with fungicides decreased to certain levels. A significant decrease in colonization was observed in plant roots treated with mycorrhizal fungi and thiram. M. phaseolina caused 82.7% disease severity on common bean after a two-month trial. Application of fungicides, mycorrhizal fungi and their combination reduced the disease severity of the pathogen by 53.2-83.9%. The combination of hymexazole and mycorrhizal fungi had the greatest effect on disease severity. The effects of fungicide and/or mycorrhizal fungus combinations on plant growth parameters (plant height, root length, shoot-root fresh weight, shoot-root dry weight) were determined with and without pathogen inoculation, and these treatments significantly increased all plant growth parameters compared to the control and pathogen. Application of mycorrhizal fungi alone was the most effective treatment in increasing all plant growth parameters. As a result of the study, it was determined that mycorrhizal fungi and fungicide combinations had significant effects on increasing plant growth and reducing the disease severity of charcoal rot in common bean.
