The problems experienced by the physically disebled accessing religious services (Alaşehir example)

Disability concept is accepted as one of the very old events that of root dates bock until human history. İn the historical development of societies have changed their perspectives positively towards the disabled with the influence of scientific, cultural and technological developments. In recent years, although there have been rights granted to the disabled people, regulations made on on the disabled people with various studies and investigations over the disabled people, in the world and Turkey disabled people continve to meet various physical and social obstacles in the society that they live in. İn this respect, the disability phenomenon concerns sociology, whose subject is society and individuals in society, it is seen as a broad field that needs to be investigated. In our study, the problems have been handled which meet physically disabled people in reaching religious services. It aimed to determine the hopes of physically disabled people from public institutions and organizations, approcehs of physically disabled people to the religion, transportation to, places of worship, in preparation to worship, in places of worship, in religious education, the problems that the live accessing religious publications and religious resources, he is mit move from the physically people in Alaşehir. It is amory our aims to contribute whith our studies to the problems whith the physically disabled people experienced in Turkey, while they are accessing religious services. Increasing the number of studies on disabled people is important in terms of bringing them to the public agenda and being remembered. Determining the difficulties of physically disabled people in accessing religious services and their expectations in this regard are important in terms of using the information that emerge as a result of the research in studies to be conducted in this field. It is essential subject for our research to be able to see disabled people in places of worship, where people come together and socialize with together, and to contribute to their social integrated. The scope of the research consists of 15 physically disabled people over the age of 18 living in the borders of Alaşehir. Qualitative research methods were used in the study. In this context, phenomenology research design, from the qualitative research designs and in-depth interview technique, from are of the qualitative research techniques, were used in the study. The participants were interviewed with a pre-prepared and categorized questionnaire. The study consists of two main parts. In the first part, literature review was made, with the obtained informations, were handled disability definitions in general, general information about disability, and the relationship between disability and religion and religious service. In the second part of study, the informations, wich were obtained from the physically disabled people, wase interpireted by being analyzed.In the research, it has been fastened down that physically disabled people encounter many problems in various areas such as, preparation for worship, places of worship, religious education, religious resources religious publications communication accessing religious services, and as a result of the made evaluations, suggestions have been developed to facilitate the lives of physically disabled people.
