Abstract (EN)

Beruk (Karasungur) Village of Siirt-Pervari is a village established on a rugged geography in the Botan Valley basin. According to Seyyid Hacı Kasım Bağdadî's Travel Book, the history of Beruk (Karasungur) Village is approximately 700 years. With this study, social and religious concepts and values that have been shaped in Beruk Village with its seven centuries old past are investigated. The family structure, marriages and decision-making mechanisms in Beruk Village regarding the social pattern are discussed. Regarding the religious structure, the social manifestations of the "guardian" cult were discussed, while addressing the relationship between village life and village environment, especially shaped around the notion of "tomb". Standing out with her miracles and her female guardian personality, Aunt Amine has been tried to express what kind of effect she has on shaping the spiritual fabric of the village as a zahid of piety and chastity with her historical chanting. Seven centuries old village / family cemetery, practices such as determining madrasah teachers within the village also stand out as the characteristic sides that separate Beruk Village from its surroundings. Especially the Qur'an-e-Quran responses and prayers made by the villagers to salute the month of Adaruk, which started on February 1 according to the Greek Calendar and believed to be full of difficulties, troubles and calamities, offer us ancient clues in the context of religion / tradition. In the light of Seyyid Hacı Kasım Bağdadî's Travel Book, which is also given in the annex of the study, this study, which aims to describe the memberships, histories, socio-cultural values and current situation of the Beruks, also reveals a surprising historical, religious and socio-cultural background of a village.
