Abstract (EN)
As well as being a world-famous writer whose literary works had been translated into 170 languages around the world, Chingis Aitmatov is also a politician and diplomat, who has influenced the diplomatic history. Being a writer who is embraced by Turkish World (via using the local cultural motives in his works) as well as by whole world via processing the universal human values in his books, the diplomatic aspects of Chingis Aitmatov are overshadowed by his literary works. Although there are very few studies in the literature related to his diplomatic career, his diplomatic life presents a field of study that requires multi-aspectual analysis. Because Chingiz Aitmatov is a cultural diplomat who has influenced the history of diplomacy through his activities and he also has an extraordinary official diplomatic career in which he served as an ambassador in behalf of three different states and served at four different states simultaneously. The aim of the study is to analyse the effects of "Chingiz Aitmatov as a diplomat" and politician on the diplomatic history. In that context the study consists of four parts. The first chapter examins the personal history of Chingiz Aitmatov, on the focus of his life's influence on his diplomatic career. The second chapter asesses his literary works, in the case of his views on international relations and diplomacy. The third part discusses the his activities related to public diplomacy and cultural diplomacy; and the last part analyses his contributions to the states he served during his career as an official diplomat, as well as the supports he made within the framework of humanitarian diplomacy to societies.
