Relationship between job satisfaction and exhaustion in mental health and neuroscience hospitals

Job satisfaction refers to individuals' attitude towards their work and their material and moral satisfaction in business life. Burnout, on the other hand, is a condition that occurs frequently in people who are in one-to-one communication with people due to their job. Emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal success are examined in three dimensions. Personal characteristics of the employees in the business life, the conditions of the environment they work, the intense stress they encounter are factors that increase the burnout while decreasing the pleasure one gets from doing his / her job. In a work environment where burnout is not experienced and employees with high job satisfaction and motivation are high, the quality and efficiency of the service provided will undoubtedly increase. This study was planned and applied to reveal the relationship between job satisfaction and burnout of health personnel working in Bakırköy Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Hospital. In the first part of the application, the concept of job satisfaction and in part two the concept of burnout are discussed. In the third section, the research application and the findings of the research are given. Scales used in the thesis; Minnesota Job Satisfaction and Maslach Scale. In addition to demographic characteristics, a total of 42 questionnaires were administered to 244 health personnel on a one-to-one basis and on a voluntary basis. The data obtained from the research were processed to SPSS 22.00 program and the results were evaluated. According to the results of the analysis, emotional burnout was found highest in nurses, Depersonalization and Burnout in doctors, and Internal Satisfaction in Psychologists. In line with the data of the analysis, the results of the research were discussed and suggestions were made to the managers.
