Abstract (EN)

Anthropogenic geomorphology can be defined as the changes made by different people on the natural environment, directly or indirectly, at different times. Today's people have always tried to adapt the natural environment to their living conditions since the day they existed. This situation was aimed at meeting the simple needs of people who were engaged in hunting and gathering in the first ages of history. After the settled life, the settlements established by people began to shape the geomorphological structure with their agricultural activities, and this situation gained momentum with the technological developments. Today's people build new structures on the land to meet their ever-increasing needs and contribute to the change of the geomorphological view. City areas, highways, bridges, dams, tunnels, and various infrastructural structures, the area of which is hundreds of kilometers today, are the clearest examples of this. This study aims to examine Bozova district in terms of Anthropogenic Geomorphology. Bozova district is in the southeastern Anatolia Region, within the borders of Şanlıurfa province. Within the scope of the research, observations obtained from field studies carried out in different time periods, satellite images and maps of different years were examined, and the change in Anthropogenic Geomorphology in Bozova district was tried to be revealed. As a result of the research, it has been determined that there are important changes in the geomorphological appearance of Bozova district due to anthropogenic activities. Within the scope of this research, Atatürk Dam Body and lake area, artificial ponds converted from old clay quarries, water channels, stone quarries, rubble accumulation areas, mounds have been determined as the most important elements that have changed the geomorphological appearance.
