A research on family constitution for family business in Bursa

This qualitative study aims to investigate factors that motivated companies to adopt a family constitution, and the consequences thereof.In line with the effort of understanding this phrnomenon, yhe author carried out semi-strucyured interviews with 19 companies that adopted a family constitution in Bursa province. The study results suggest that companies adopted the family constitution practice for reason such as intra-organization disputes, smooth generetional transitions, organizational purposes, a desire to become more corporate, to clarify job desription.The results indicate that companies gained an increase in synergy, organizational fairness, organic growth, rationalized desicions and improved communications after adopting a constitution.
