Abstract (EN)

Introduction: Women have a long reproductive life with an average of 36 years; it covers the period from menarche at the ages of 8.5-13 years to menopause at the age of about 51 years. Menstruation is divided into two different main phases, follicular and luteal, based on follicular maturation, ovulation, and corpus luteum formation. Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS), which is characterized by physical and behavioral symptoms, manifests itself in the second half of the menstrual cycle and negatively affects women's lives. PMS symptoms are seen in 40% of women in the reproductive period. "Severe symptoms may be seen at low rates. Bloating, pain, anxiety and tension; crying spells, depression, fatigue are the most common PMS symptoms." These symptoms usually last up to a week. Studies show that the work performance of individuals with PMS can also be affected. One-week period with symptoms in the premenstrual period covers an important period in a woman's life. In this study, which will examine working women, it is thought that although it is not suitable for the definition of PMS in the premenstrual period, it is thought that limiting themselves while moving will negatively affect their work efficiency and become more vulnerable to injury. Aim: Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) can disrupt women's working process, social activities and interpersonal communication and lead to a lower quality of life. This study was conducted in order to evaluate the prevalence of premenstrual syndrome in working women, kinesiophobia in the premenstrual period, job performance and the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics and PMS symptoms and to examine the effect of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) on performance at work. Method: The model of the research is the relational screening model. It is called screening approach that aims to determine the existence of co-variation between two or more variables. In the relational screening model, it is tried to determine whether the variables change together; if there is a change, how it happens. According to this model, the aim is to reach the sample group as quickly and personally as possible and to carry out the research in accordance with its purpose. The population of the research consists of working women in Turkey. The sample of the study consists of 350 women. iv Findings: The differences between the demographic groups of PMSS and IPS total scores were not statistically significant (p>0.05). The differences of the TSK total score between the demographic groups other than age (p<0.05) were not statistically significant (p>0.05). There is a statistically significant and negative relationship (r=- 0.128; p<0.05) between the PMSS total score and the size of the living place. There was a statistically significant and positive correlation between menstrual pain and PMSS (r=0.274; p<0.01). There is a statistically significant and positive correlation between TKS and age (r=0.115; p<0.05), size of living place (r=0.127; p<0.05) and menstrual pain VAS value (r=0.157; p<0.01). The relationship between TSK and PMSS with all dimensions except appetite changes (p>0.05) and bloating (p>0.05) was statistically significant (p<0.05). According to the results of GLM analysis, having a TSK level of 30 and below (B=-10.385; p<0.05), living in a town/town (B=-20.716; p<0.01), PMSS scale anxiety (B=0.455; p<0.01) ), PMSS scale pain (B=0.423; p<0.05) and PMSS scale sleep changes (B=0.426; p<0.01) affect statistically significantly. Results: It shows that PMS levels in working women affect kinesiophobia levels statistically, but they do not allow this to affect performance dimensions in business life.
