Gender discrimination against women in working life: The case of İstanbul Osmanbey district textile companies

It is very important to identify the gender discrimination faced by women in working life and to offer solutions by making the necessary arrangements. The aim of this study is to reveal the problems encountered in women's employment in the textile sector and the gender discrimination experienced. The practice carried out in this context was carried out in the textile sector, where women are heavily employed. Within the scope of this thesis study, the problems faced by women in textile companies in Istanbul and gender discrimination were tried to be measured with the help of a questionnaire developed. Data collected from 173 female employees through face-to-face and online questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) 24.0 package program. The most important result of there search is; It is revealed that there is a statistically significant, correct and weak relationship between the participants' level of participation in the factors affecting women's employment and their perceived gender biases. In other words, as the gender bias perceived by the participants increased, the importance of the factors affecting employment increased.
