Abstract (EN)
Purpose : To assess the role of multislice CT volumetric measurement of the liver in potential living donors and correlation between CT volumetry and actual greft weight.Materials and methods: Prior to transplantation surgery, a total of 370 living liver donor candidates (146 females, 224 males) with an age range between 18-60, underwent unenhanced CT and thre-phase CT angiography with a 16-detector CT scanner. Liver volume was calculated using the manual method. CT findings were then compared to intraoperative findings. Results: Hepatic volumes calculated pre-operatively by the CT with manual method were in correlation with intraoperative findings. Conclusion: Multidetector CT is a reliable technique in the evaluation of potential living liver donors preoperative hepatic volumetric measurements.
