The Algerian national poet Moufdi Zakaria and Its poet named the Algerian Ilyad

Moufdi Zakaria, an important figure of Algerian literature, stands out with his representation of classical Arabic poetry in the modern period as well as being a national poet. In his poems, he reflected the ideas and thoughts of the period he lived in, adhering to tradition. His works were not only limited to Algeria, but also influenced the whole Islamic world, especially North Africa. Although there are studies on Moufdi Zakaria's life and his identity as a national poet, no work of his has been analysed in depth and no detailed evaluation has been made about the characteristics of his literary style and aesthetic understanding. The main purpose of this study is to examine how Moufdi Zakaria's literary personality was shaped under the influence of the political, social, and cultural conditions of his time and to analyse the content, form, and style of his work Algerian Ilyad, which most clearly reflects his thought and artistic understanding. In this direction, Algerian Ilyad as a basic work reflecting the poet's literary personality and all his other accessible works were analysed by document analysis method. Within the scope of the study, the analysis of the recordings of the poet's recitation of Algerian Ilyad in his own voice and the table and graph of its content were created by quantifying and numerical analysis of qualitative data. The fact that the 100 stanzas in Algerian Ilyad, which include repetitions called "lāzime" at the end, are in meter and rhyme is one of the findings that show an innovative approach inspired by the forms of classical Arabic poetry. One of the results of the study is that the verse form of the work can be accepted as a new genre created by Moufdi Zakaria. An evaluation of Moufdi Zakaria's literary style and aesthetics by analysing his work Algerian Ilyad, which best reflects his artistic approach, will not only provide a better understanding of Algerian literature, but will also enable the discovery of innovative approaches to classical Arabic poetry in the modern period.
