Abstract (EN)

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder that develops in the respiratory tract, characterized by T helper cells mediated immune response. Approximately 235 million people have asthma today. If the disease is not well controlled by the appropriate treatment, children with asthma have continuous emergency department visit, sleep disorders, restriction of activities in the game and family, irreversible disorders in lung function and require early diagnosis and treatment. During asthma disease, T lymphocytes, neutrophils, macrophages and dendritic cells produce immune responses. The immune response results in an increase in the level of cytokine molecules in the blood. Since blood sampling in pediatric patients is an invasive method for detecting cytokine serum levels, it is difficult and causes anxiety, fear, and psychological trauma. As an alternative to blood sampling, nasal swab specimen taken from the nose is non-invasive. It is therefore easy and does not cause a traumatic problem to patients as in the blood collection process. The aim of this study was to facilitate the diagnosis and following of asthma in children by investigating the levels of the cytokines GM-CSF, IL-5, IL-6, IL-13 and IL-33, and cytokine alarmins such as periostin, TSLP, IL-4, IL-12 in remission period and to evaluate it's biomarker characteristics. Biomarker Evaluation of Cytokine Alarmins and Cytokine Molecules Released During Exacerbation (Acute) and Remission Periods in Nasal Fluid of Pediatric Asthmatic Patients Keywords: child; asthma; remission; nasal fluid, serum; Luminex.
