Abstract (EN)

Introduction and Purpose: Anger is one of the emotions that exist in every person and show the individual's mood. Anger, which has an important place in our daily life, is an extremely natural and universal reaction to unsatisfied desires, unwanted consequences and unmet expectations. Anger can be experienced in different intensities. Sometimes it is short-term, moderate, and even beneficial at this level, while sometimes it can be continuous, severe and destructive. The examination of parental attitudes, which is considered to be one of the most important factors affecting anger control, reflects the purpose of the study. Method: The research was carried out by scanning method. The sample of the study consists of 412 participants, children and adolescents aged between 8 and 18 years. In the study, the socio-demographic data form prepared by the researcher, The State-Trait Anger Scales and Anger Expression Scale (Anger-Style) Scale and Parental Attitude Scale were used. Descriptive analysis, T-Test and ANOVA test and correlation analysis were used in the analysis of research data. Results: 41.7% of the children and adolescents participating in the study were between the ages of 11-15. In the study, it was determined that there was a relationship between parental attitudes and anger control levels. Accordingly, there was a low-level, positive relationship between the trait anger sub-dimension and permissive attitude (r: 0.191; p <0.05), protective attitude (r: 0.145; p <0.05), democratic attitude (r: 0.102; p <0.05); moderate and positive relationship between trait anger subdimension and authoritarian attitude (r: 0.341; p <0.05). There was a moderate and positive relationship between controlled anger subdimension and protective attitude (r: 0.333; p <0.05) and democratic attitude (r: 0.537; p <0.05). There was a low-level and positive relationship between the expressed anger sub-dimension and the permissive attitude (r: 0.219; p <0.05), protective attitude (r: 0.145; p <0, 05) and democratic attitude (r: 0.140; p <0.05). There was a moderate-level and positive relationship between expressed anger sub-dimension and authoritarian attitude (r: 0.348; p <0.05); and a low-level and positive relationship between anger-held sub-dimension and permissive attitude (r: 0.218; p <0.05), protective attitude (r: 0.157; p <0.05), democratic attitude (r: 0.263; p <0.05) and authoritarian attitude (r: 0.138; p <0.05). Conclusion: In the study, it was determined that anger control levels and parental attitudes differ according to age, economic condition, father and mother's education level. At the same time, it was concluded that there was a relationship between parental attitudes and trait anger, controlled anger, internal and expressed anger levels.
