Investigation of the relationship between childhood trauma and relationship addiction

This study is aimed at examining the connection between relationship addiction and childhood traumas in adult individuals. At the same time, it is aimed at investigating the effect according to demographic characteristics. The study was participated in by 304 women comprising 54.5% and 254 men comprising 45.5%, on a voluntary basis. The Childhood Mental Traumas Scale, Spann-Fischer Relationship Addiction Scale were used along with the Socio-Demographic Information Form created for this study were used as data collection tools. The data was analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package Program for Social Science) 21.0 program. According to the results obtained from the study, it is seen that the severity of relationship addiction scales with the increase in one's own perception of childhood traumas. According to the model, it is seen that childhood emotional abuse and emotional neglect cause an increase in the level of relationship addiction rather than other forms of childhood trauma. It was observed that there was no significant difference between men and women in the scales used in the study.
