Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to apply COOP Adolescent Chart test?s validity and reliability which has not been used in Turkey. The test includes the questions regarding the adolescent?s daily activity, the family condition, school success, physical, emotional, social and general health conditions prior to the last four weeks. The study was applied through ?test? and ?re-test? (an hour later) methods on a sample of 698 students, selected among a total of 14,233 students who had been between 11-15 years old and attending to the 6th to 8th year classes of the elementary schools in the city center of Hatay in Turkey, in December 2009. Among the participants 52.7% were male and 47.3% were female.Tests used at the survey are ?Chi-square? for variable analysis, ?One Way Anova test?, ?the Kolmogrov - Smirnov analysis method? to check answers for the normal distribution, ?the Sperman Correlation analysis? for the test reliability, ?the Kaiser - Meyer - Olkin and Barlett analysis for the suitability of scale for the factor analysis, and ?the Component Factor analysis? for the test validity. The safety factors of the survey were found to be between 0.7322 and 0.7765 using ?Croncbach Alpha?. The correlation coefficients were found between 0.355 and 0.853. The KMO values determining the data suitability for the principal component analysis were found to be high (0.838). According to component factor analysis, the factor load of all components were found to be greater than 0.50 and the variance was calculated as 52.024%.Therefore, it can be concluded that the Turkish adaptation of COOP Adolescent Charts have point stability and structure validity (which are the results of total test correlation coefficient, internal consistency, correlation coefficient with other scales, test and retest reliability coefficient) in similar amounts as they are in the original version. This assessment and evaluation instrument that was adapted to Turkish language and compiled through the expertise and confirmation of specialists can be used on adolescents as valid and as reliably as it can be with the original.Key words: COOP Adolescent Chart, Validity-Reliability.
