Abstract (EN)
In December 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) detected and reported many pneumonia patients of unknown cause in the seafood market in Wuhan, China's Hubei region. It was stated for the first time on January 12, 2020 that the causes of such complaints were a new type of coronavirus (2019-nCoV), and on February 11, 2020, this epidemic was called the "Covid-19" pandemic. Especially since no way and method could be determined for the treatment of the disease, this epidemic caused fear, uneasiness and stress in people, and these feelings caused deterioration in the behavior of people and a negative situation in their psychological resilience. Believing in something, that is, religion, is the feature that makes us strong against difficult situations in life and gives us strength in the face of difficulties. In addition, religion promises people that the problems they encounter will be rewarded. Individuals who are left alone with an extraordinary event and problem, while trying to understand this event, on the other hand, cope with the events they encounter by getting support from their religion. We use coping methods to cope with and get rid of epidemics, diseases, dangers or events that stress us in life. The religious orientation of this effort, which we put forward in such situations when we are faced with negative situations, reveals our religious coping method. While some people seek help from Allah, some people may behave away from religion. In this study, whether people residing in Amasya provinces and districts who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 officially and have the disease think that this disease is a health problem or whether they describe the disease as a punishment, whether they resort to religious coping methods to cope with this disease, It is aimed to reveal whether there are differences in their religious beliefs and worship during the process and whether The population of the study consists of patients living in Amasya city center and its districts and caught in the Covid-19 epidemic in the years 2020-2021-2022. As a sample, in-depth interviews were conducted with individuals selected by random sampling method. In his study, Başkale (2016) stated that the sample should be approximately 30 people in in-depth interviews. From this point of view, the sample of the study consists of 31 participants. Attention was paid to the homogeneous distribution of these participants according to their genders. The method used is the interview technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The obtained data were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. The conclusion reached as a result of the research is that the majority of individuals suffering from Covid-19 see this disease as a global health problem. They stated that individuals who contracted the Covid-19 disease did not question their belief status when they contracted this disease, they used religious coping methods, and that there was a difference in their religious beliefs and worship with this disease. It has been revealed that the majority of individuals suffering from this disease turn to alternative medicine to cope with the Covid-19 disease, but also resort to religious coping methods.
