Investigation of academic motivation level of physical education and sports teacher candidates in the COVID 19 pandemic process in terms of some changes

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of Covid 19 pandemic, which has affected many fields worldwide, on the academic motivation of physical education and sports teacher candidates in terms of some variables. In line with this purpose, the general population of the research consists of the students of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department and İzmir 9 Eylül University Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department, while the study population consists of the students of the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department who continue their education in the 2nd and 3rd grade in the 2020-2021 academic year. The sample of the study consists of Physical Education and Sports Teaching students who volunteered to participate in the study and who continue their education in the 2nd or 3rd grade in the 2020/2021 academic year. The survey technique, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research and personal information form and Academic Motivation Scale were used to obtain the data. After the data collection process was completed, the obtained data were analyzed by using SPSS 23 package (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). As a result, it is thought that it will be a guide for the improvement, regulation and innovations that can be made for the curriculum of the physical education and sports teaching department in order to increase the academic motivation level and education quality of teacher candidates.
