Education of Mahmudiye in the Republican Period

The aim of this study is to reveal the training activities in Eskişehir Province Mahmudiye County, from the establishment of the state of the Republic of Turkey till now. Mahmudiye is important for being the place which holds the light for village and villagers education. Schools, which are continuation of each other, Mahmudiye Instructor Course, Mahmudiye Village Teaching School, Çifteler Village Institute, Yunusemre Primary Teaching School, Yunusemre Teacher High School, Yunusemre Anatolia Teacher High School have been individually searched. Archives were scanned. Accessible teachers, students, personnels were scanned. Accesible teachers, students, personnels were interviewed and have been included in the study. Mahmudiye's other significant contribution to Turkey is, now in Turkey billion sector, one of the leading sectors in the horseraising of purebred Arabian horses. Champion foals have been raised from studfarms, leading Anatolian Agricultural Enterprise, which is connected with General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprise. Therefore, from 2007, Eskişehir Osmangazi University Mahmudiye Horse Breeding Vocational School has been active in education. Students, graduated from this school, have become trainers of favoruite horses in race. In our study, there have been some topics, as a whole, which are important enough to separate a couple of thesis such as Mahmudiye Horse Breeding Vocational School and the history of horseraising in Mahmudiye. Our study is expected to contribute to the inventory of the History of Turkish Education and will be a resource to subsequent studies.
