Investigating caregiver burden of dementia patients'concerning family member

This study was conducted to predict the caregiver burden of caregivers of dementia patients by ways of coping with stress, self efficacy and psychological resilience. The research was carried out on 134 family caregivers of dementia who are taking health care from university hospitals in Izmir and members of Alzheimer Support Association. In the study, family caregivers of dementia patients' caregiver burden, ways of coping with stress, self efficacy and psychological resilience were measured by "Caregiver Burden Inventory" , "Ways of Coping Inventory" , "Generalized Perceived Self Efficacy Scale" , "Resilience Scale for Adults" respectively. The personal information about caregivers and patients was collected by using "Personal Information Form" which was developed by the researcher. In this research, data were analyzed by multiple regression analysis. According to findings none of independent variables were significant inpredicting caregiver burden of family caregivers of dementia patients. It was found that coping with stress, self efficacy and psychological resilience had been explained % 9 of total variance of caregiver burden scores.
