Abstract (EN)
Democrat Party's coming into power with the election of 1950 started a newperiod in Turkish political life. The party's fast construction across the country the attantion of people. So did it in Van where it gothered weil-known persons in it's circle and also on area of activity. Especiallly it showed it's sensitivity to the problems which were suppressed for many years and this attracted public in1950 and 1954. In 1950 and 1954 election İzzet Akın, Kemal Yörükoğlu, Muhlis Görentaş, Hilmi Durmaz and Hamit Kartal were elected General assembly of Turkey(TBMM). Both for the thing they did and for their true personalities they earned respect of the people of Van district long years.
