Abstract (EN)

Information pollution on the Internet and digital invisibility factor in the digital world, especially in social media, cause different problems. Ethical problems caused by information plagiarism, assignments made by someone else, and accounts opened under different names can be seen as innocent by students, especially when it is considered specifically for students. The problems experienced in IT ethics are evaluated on a legal basis on an equal level with many crimes such as theft and fraud expressed in daily life. It is important in this respect that the subjects of informatics ethics, which are becoming increasingly important, are acquired in the education process, and it will be gained through this comparison to today's secondary school students, who are the individuals of the future. This study was carried out to determine the effect of digital animation use on secondary school students' attitudes towards informatics ethics. In this context, the quasi-experimental design with the pretest-posttest comparison group, which is one of the experimental models, was carried out in the quasi-experimental model. As the study group of the research, 59 (59%) girls and 41 (41%) boys were determined as 5th and 6th grade students in a school in Meram district of Konya. The implementation process includes the subject of "Information Ethics". In the control group, the "Information Ethics" presentation was processed with different materials such as lecture notes, and digital animations/stories prepared in addition to these in the experimental group were used as material. As a data collection tool, "The Questionnaire for Determining Secondary School Students' Perceptions of Information Ethics" was developed. In order to develop the questionnaire, first of all, a literature review was conducted. A questionnaire consisting of 34 items was developed for the dimensions of Intellectual Property, Confidentiality, Accuracy and Accessibility. In this experimental study, the independent sample t-test was used to compare the pre- and post-tests of the students in both groups with each other. In addition, the dependent sample t test was used to compare the development of the experimental and control groups in the process, that is, their pre-post test scores. According to the results, different results were obtained in the slide presentation method in the experimental group and the animation in the form of presentation in the control group. It has been observed that it has a positive effect on the unethical computer use behaviors of the control group in the form of animation. It has been concluded that scenario-based animation examples cause a difference in the perceptions of informatics ethics. It can be suggested that scenario based animations be used in informatics ethics teaching. The analysis of the data was made with the SPSS analysis program and the significance level was taken as .05. Keywords: Ethics, IT ethics, Computer ethics, digital animation, Digital world,
