Relationship between religiosty and environment

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between environmental behaviours and religiosity. Research of two parts as the theoretical section end the emprical section. The first part of the research methodology and conceptual framework, environment, environmental awareness, environmental psychology, environmental ethics, environmental behaviours, environmental problems and causes, definitions of religion and religiosty, the dimensions of individual religiosty, environment and religion relations are examined with documentation method. In the second part the findings of the research are given. During the application process of this research Environmental Behaviours Scale and Religious Scale have been used. The sample group of the study consists of 274 women and 326 men, total of 600 persons. The questionnaire form has applied to 600 individuals selected by random sampling, who were between the ages of 15 and 65+, residing in Ordu. The data that obtained from emprical research were evaluated in terms of independed variables such as gender, age, marital status, educational status, socio-economic and occupational status. In this context, significant positive and negative ststistically relationships have been determined between environmental behaviours and religiosity in the research.
