Textual linguistics study on the poetic pieces in Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk

The pieces in verse the Turkish-Arabic dictionary called Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk, written by Mahmud of Kashgar, reveal the oldest examples of the 11th century Turkish language and Turkish folk poetry. In Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk, the words included as the beginning of the article are exemplified by poems related to the topics discussed. It is noteworthy that no text linguistics study has been conducted on the poems. In this thesis, the pieces in verse Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk, which are the most important examples of Old Turkish Folk poetry, were examined text-linguistically. Text linguistics, which emerged with the diversification and spread of linguistic studies, deals with the text as a whole, together with the elements that make up the text. With the method of text linguistics, which subjects texts to the principles of consistency, cohesion and cohesion, text and non-text can be easily distinguished. The comprehensibility of the pieces in verse Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk has been strengthened with text linguistics, which aims to make the text easier and clearer to understand for the reader and writer. The poems in Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk are based on the translations of Talat Tekin (1989) and Ahmet Bican Ercilasun (2020). The poems in Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk were examined under the following headings of text linguistics: 1. Consistency, a. Repetition, b. Privatization, c. Generalization, d. Causality, e. Opposition, f.
