Abstract (EN)
Study The aim of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of Quality of Life for Youth with the aim of measuring the quality of life of children and adolescents diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. The study was carried out in Ege University Medical Faculty Pediatric Hospital Endocrinology Department. The sample was not reached in the study, 10 times the number of items in the scale (22 * 10 = 220) was targeted to reach, but 200 patients were reached. The research is methodologically planned. The data of the study, between February 2017- May 2017, socio-demographic information form using face-to-face interview technique, Quality of life for children and adolescents with quality of life scale (DQOL-Y). (Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory), child evaluation form (8-12 years) and adolescent evaluation form (13-18 years). For the validity of the study, predictive validity was used for language validity, content validity, construct validity and criterion validity. For the validity of the language, translation-re-translation method and scope validity will be performed in consultation with the experts. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed for construct validity. For criterion validity, the correlation coefficient, regression coefficient and explanatory coefficient values between PedsQL and DQOL-Y were investigated. The reliability and internal consistency methods of the study were used for the reliability of the study. For validity study, DQOL-Y was first translated into Turkish and then to English and language validity was provided. After the validity of the language was obtained, the scale was presented to the expert opinion and the content validity was evaluated according to the expert opinions. According to expert opinions, Scope Validity Index (CGI) value of all items was found to be above 0.70. (KGI> 0.70). The Turkish form of the scale was created after pre-treatment of the individuals who would not be included in the sampling. For the construct validity of the scale, the fit index values examined in the CFA were found to be among the accepted values for construct validity (χ2/SD = 0.98, RMSEA = 0.00, SRMR = 0.07, GFI = 0.93, CFI = 1, 00, NF1 = 0.90, AGFI = 0.89). When the factor loadings related to the sub-dimensions of the scale were examined, it was found that the factor loadings of the items ranged from 0.34 to 0.98 and were within the accepted values. (P <0.01). As a result of the validity and reliability analyzes, it was determined that the Quality of Life Scale in Children and Adolescents was a valid and reliable scale to measure the quality of life in children and adolescents diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. In children and adolescents diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, it was proposed to investigate the Quality of Life Scale in larger sample groups.
