Abstract (EN)

The poetry collection registered at number AHA-139 in the Diyarbakır Manuscript Library is a significant resource compiled by Sheikh Muhammed Şükrî Efendi of Diyarbakır at the beginning of the 20th century. It contains poems written in various verse forms, primarily in Turkish, but also in Arabic, Persian, and Kurdish. Pages 1a-200a of this collection constitute the scope of our study. Pages 2b-200a contain 766 ghazals, 7 murabbas, 3 müstezats, 2 şarkıs, 2 kasides, 2 nefes, and 1 semai. Shaped according to the compiler's literary taste, the collection primarily features aşıkane (romantic) and Sufi poems. These pages include 782 poems in Turkish and 1 poem in Kurdish, written under 169 different pen names. Our study consists of three sections. The first section provides a general introduction to the poetry collection. Information is provided about the life and personality of the editor. The collection's spelling and other characteristics are outlined. The distribution of poets for the poems on pages 2b-200a; the distribution of the poems by century, verse form, and meter; and the distribution of poets by country and century are presented and evaluated in tables. The second section of our study includes the transcribed texts of the poems on pages 1a-200b. In this section, the poems transcribed into Latin letters are compared with their previously published versions, and any differences are indicated in footnotes. The third section provides a table of contents for the poetry collection, the subject of our study, according to MESTAP. The poetry journal, registered at number AHA-139 in the Diyarbakır Manuscript Library, is significant for its collection of previously unpublished poems by Diyarbakır poets such as Saîd Paşa and Nigâhî Baba, as well as for its inclusion of unknown poems by Nâbî, one of the leading classical poets. It can also be said that this journal is an important resource for uncovering unknown poems by other poets. In this manner, we believe our study will contribute to studies on the journal and to the history of classical Turkish literature.
