Abstract (EN)

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to show the frequencies of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases in Düzce Çiftlik Village and their distribution according to socio-demographic variables such as age, sex, education. Materials and methods: This research is a descriptive study.583 adults who reside in the Çiftlik village form the universe of the research.The study was carried out entirely in the universe without selecting sample. During the research, 390 people were reached and the research was completed with 373 people. The data were collected by the researcher and intern doctors using the face-to-face survey method. Physical measurements of participants were made. The data in the study were evaluated using a statistical package program. In the analyzes performed, p <0.05 was considered significant. Results: 47.7% of the study group were male, 52.3% were females. The mean age is 46.50 ± 15.58 and the youngest age is 18 years, the greatest age is 84 years and the median age is 48 years. According to education level, 49.9% is primary school graduate. According to marital status, 79.4% are still married. 43.7% of the study group is housewife. 68.1% of them do not have a job to earn income. According to health insurance, 71.6% have health insurance through SSK. According to the family type, 64.9% live in the seed family. 62.2% stated moderate income level. 24.4% of the research group stated that they use at least one of the tobacco products. As a result of logistic regression analysis, being male by sex in terms of tobacco product use was found to be 4.204 times more risky. According to age, those under 50 years old were 3.643 times more risky than those aged 50 years and over. Those who work in a revenue-generating business are 2.717 times more risky than those who do not. According to the use of alcoholic beverages, 3.0% use alcoholic beverages. In the study group, average 1.15 ± 0.99 servings of fruits and 1.40 ± 1.05 servings of vegetables per day are consumed. According to physical activity status, 57.4% do not have any physical activity. As a result of the logistic regression analysis, the level of education in terms of physical inactivity was found to be 1.702 times higher than those in high school and those in high school and above. According to the obesity frequency of the study group, 33.0% were obese according to BMI. The frequency of hypertension in the study group was 46.4%. As a result of logistic regression analysis, women were 1.860 times more risky than men in terms of hypertension. 50 years of age and over were found to be 5.100 times more risky than those under 50 years of age. Large families were found to be 1,829 times risky from the core-single parent. In the study group, 23.6% of those with hypertension were under control. 33.6% of the people without hypertension were hypertensive. Conclusion and Recommendations: According to the results of the research, tobacco and alcohol use is more common in men and younger people, obesity and hypertension are more common in women and elderly people. Informative campaigns aimed at collecting cardiovascular diseases and risk factors should be pursued. Reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease development should be ensured by increasing awareness of cardiovascular disease and risk factors in the community.
