Abstract (EN)

Lung cancer is the type of cancer with the most common cancer-related deaths worldwide, and newly developed targeted therapies have been shown to improve clinical outcomes. The use of EGFR TKI treatment is becoming increasingly common in patients with EGFR mutations in lung adenocarcinoma. Understanding the factors that affect survival can be beneficial in the use of this treatment, which is becoming increasingly important in the follow-up and treatment of patients. In our study, we examined factors that could affect prognosis and survival in patients with EGFR mutant lung adenocarcinoma treated with EGFR TKI. Between January 2010 and December 2021, 153 patients diagnosed with EGFR mutant Lung Adenocarcinoma who were treated with EGFR TKI during their treatment were retrospectively examined at Pamukkale University Hospital Medical Oncology Clinic. The demographic characteristics of the patients and parameters that were thought to be prognostic factors were screened. Age, gender, date of diagnosis, smoking status, family history of lung cancer, performance status, CEA values before treatment, size of the primary tumor at the time of diagnosis, SUVmax value of the primary tumor at the time of diagnosis, location of the primary tumor, EGFR mutation status and type, presence of T790M mutation at the time of diagnosis, PDL-1 status, presence of metastasis at the time of diagnosis, location of metastases if present, the order of TKI use, TKI treatment received, progression status during treatment, last follow-up date, and date of death were screened. As a result, parameters that could be effective for survival in patients with EGFR mutant lung adenocarcinoma treated with EGFR TKI have been identified, which may provide insights for clinicians. The number of patients evaluated in our study does not constitute a large sample. Further studies with a larger number of patients are needed to determine the reasons for different results in the literature.
