Abstract (EN)
Objective: This study is a methodological research conducted to determine the reliability and validity of the Turkish form of the Breastfeeding Questions Assessment Scale. Method: The study was held between 1 March 2015 - 1 October 2015 at T.C. Ministry of Health Ankara Etlik Zübeyde Hanım Obstetrics and Gynecology Education Research Hospital. The population of the study consisted of 184 mothers who were admitted to the hospital at the second week of postpartum period between February 1, 2016 and June 1, 2016 and met the inclusion criteria. In this study, the adaptation of the 'Breastfeeding Problems Assessment Scale üne, which was developed by Wambach in 1990, to Turkish culture was conducted. The surveys were applied by face-to-face interview method. Mothers were informed about the study before the survey were administered. Interviews took approximately five to ten minutes for each mother with the Individual Diagnostic Form and Breastfeeding Assessment Scale. SPSS 20.00 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) and AMOS package program were used for the findings. Descriptive statistical methods (Frequency, Percentage) and validity reliability analyzes were used when evaluating study da Results: To determine the validity of the Turkish form of the Breastfeeding Questions Assessment Scale, language equivalence was first established. The content validity ratio and coverage validity index were calculated by referring to ten expert opinions in content validity. The total number of items (18) of your scale was provided by KGO (80% -100%). Confirmatory factor was used in structural validity analysis. KMO and Barlett tests were performed before factor analysis and it was determined that sample size was sufficient for factor analysis (KMO = 0.764> 0.60, p <0.05). As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, five factors were determined and it was determined that the items were appropriate to the original structure of the scale. The factor loadings of the items are between 0.552-0.842. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, the model shows good agreement according to the result of the fit-square / Sd, RMSA, SRMR compliance statistics (chi-square / Sd = 1.902; RMSA = 0.070; SRMR = 0.027 SRMR = 0.02). Test retest reliability of the scale was performed with 54 women achievable after four week, and no significant difference was found between the test retest responses. The Cronbach's Alpha value of 18 items from the Breastfeeding Questions Assessment Questionnaire was 0.776. Cronbach Alpha values of scale sub-dimensions; Mechanical concerns: 0.852; Concerns of the process: 0.712 0.723; Concerns about milk insufficiency: 0.766; Memory concerns: 0.748; Social worries were found to be 0.789. In the item subscale correlation analysis, it was found statistically significant (p <0.05). Conclusion and Recommendation: Breastfeeding Problems Rating Scale superficial and structural validity and reliability is provided for Turkey. It is recommended that the Breastfeeding Questions Assessment Scale should be used in the research conducted by the mothers at different times of the breastfeeding period and the results should be assessed.
