Enverî's Dîvân [Critical text-analysis]

Dîvâns are among the valuable works that constitute "Classical Turkish Literature", which is an important period in the history of Turkish literature. One of these works is Enverî's Dîvân, penned between the end of the 16th century and the first half of the 17th century. In the present study, the criticized text was created by comparing the two copies of the given Dîvân. In addition, by examining the poems in Dîvân, Dîvân was analysed in order to reflect the social, political and cultural characteristics of the period as well as the mind structure of the poet and his world of thought. Only two copies of the Dîvân could be detected. One of the copies is present in Istanbul Süleymaniye Library with the catalogue number "07 Tekeli 750". This copy, with deficiencies in the beginning and middle of it, consists of 74 leaves and 478 poems. The other copy of the Dîvân is present in the Library of Ârif Hikmet Bey in Medîne-i Münevvere. This copy, which is thought to be complete, consists of 103 leaves and 572 poems. This study consists of three main parts. In the first part, information about Enverî's life, his literary personality and his Dîvân was given. In the second part, the Dîvân's form was examined. In this part, poetry forms in the Dîvân were examined and attention were drawn to their usage of meter, rhyme and redif (repeated voice). At the same time, it was examined in terms of linguistic features. Besides, the content of the poems was detailed and classified, and the thought and cultural background of the poet were revealed. In the third part, which is the last part of the study, there is a critical text. The rest of this part includes conclusion, bibliography, index and sample pages from copies. As a result of the study, it is concluded that the text of the Divan consists of 572 poems in total including 1 ode, 2 'terkîb-bend', 26 'müseddes', 11 'tahmîs', 4 'muhammes', 7 'murabba', 399 ghazals, 1 'müstezâd', 11 'rubâ'î', 30 verses, 6 'nazm', 13 'müfred' and 61 'matla'.
