Abstract (EN)

Internet addiction and social anxiety of adolescent students examination of the relationship between properties in terms of some variables was conducted with 397 individuals living in Niğde. The data in the study were investigated with the questions about the socio-demographic characteristics of the individuals, their academic achievement averages at the end of the year, and the scales that determine their internet addiction and social enrollment levels. In the study, in order to determine the social anxiety levels of adolescents, the social anxiety scale within adolescents, whose validity and reliability was verified by Aydın and Sütcü (2007), was used. The scale is a 5-point Likert type scale consisting of 22 items and 3 sub-dimensions. Adolescents' Internet addiction is a scale consisting of 4 sub-dimensions and 35 questions in 5-point likert type, which was added to the literature in the study conducted by Günüç and Kayri (2010). As a result of the research, as a result of the correlation analysis between the Internet addiction and social anxiety levels of adolescents, it was found that there was only a positive and low-level relationship between the Internet addiction deprivation sub-dimension and general social anxiety. On the other hand, general internet addiction was found to be positively and at a low level with the sub-dimension of social anxiety scale Feeling Fear and Anxiety in New Social Situations (S-SHKD).
