Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of filling root canals prepared with Ni-Ti rotary canal instruments of different sizes and taper angles with resin and bioceramic-based root canal sealers (AH Plus, TotalFill BC Sealer) on fracture resistance. In our study, 90 lower premolar human teeth were used. After separating the crowns, leaving a remaining root length of 13 mm, 10 randomly selected teeth were assigned as the control group and received no treatment. The remaining teeth were divided into four equal groups and prepared at 25/0.04, 25/0.06, 30/0.04, and 30/0.06 sizes and taper angles using the FKG RACE EVO file system. After the shaping process was completed, the groups were further divided into two subgroups. The root canals in the first subgroups were filled with TotalFill BC Sealer root canal sealer, while the root canals in the second subgroups were filled with AH Plus root canal sealer. After the root canal fillings were completed, all teeth from the control and experimental groups were embedded in acrylic resin. Force was applied to the teeth embedded in acrylic resin using a Universal Testing Machine, and the force at which the teeth fractured was recorded in Newtons (N). The Kruskal-Wallis H test was used for data analysis, and p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. In our study, no statistically significant difference was found in terms of fracture resistance between teeth that were prepared in 25/0.04, 25/0.06, 30/0.04, and 30/0.06 sizes and filled with TotalFill BC Sealer and AH Plus root canal sealers (p>0.05).
