Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out to determine the opinions of teachers from different branches working in secondary schools about the music lesson. This research is descriptive research and was carried out in the general survey model. As a data collection tool, the '' Questionnaire for Determining the Opinions of Secondary School Teachers in Different Branches on Music Lesson '' developed by the researcher was used. The questionnaire consisted of 28 items. The sample of the study consisted of 143 secondary teachers from different branches working in Gaziantep. Data were collected with the answers given by the branch teachers to the questionnaire and analyzed with the IBN SPSS Statistics 22.0 program. In the analysis of the data, percentage and frequency values were determined for each of the sub-problems and presented in the tables in the findings section. As a result of the research, it is seen that the branch teachers mostly agree with the opinions about the factors affecting the quality of the music lesson. It has been determined that only information technology and software teachers do not mostly agree with the opinion that one lesson per week is not enough for music lessons. Mathematics teachers mostly disagree with the view that students should learn to play a musical instrument in music lessons. The branch teachers who participated in the research mostly agree with the views on the development of the students. Regarding the attitudes of students towards the music lesson, the majority of Turkish language teachers and half of the information technologies and software teachers do not agree with the view that students might be afraid of this lesson because it is a lesson that requires talent. Most of the teachers of religious culture and ethics do not agree with the view that the students do not care about this lesson because there is not any question about the music lesson in the central exams. None of the branch teachers agree with the view that lessons such as mathematics, Turkish, and science are more important than music lessons. While the majority of teachers of mathematics, Turkish language, social studies, religious culture and ethics, visual arts/technology and design, physical education and sports agree with the view that the music lesson can be a challenging lesson for families whose economic situation is not good, it is seen that the majority of foreign language, information technologies and software, psychological counselors and guidance teachers do not agree. Half of the science teachers agree and half do not on this view. It has been observed that the branch teachers mostly agree with the opinion that I do not find it appropriate to evaluate music lessons with grades. It has been determined that Turkish language, foreign language, religious culture and ethics knowledge, visual arts/technology and design teachers mostly agree with the opinion that music lesson should be an elective course in secondary schools, but mathematics, science, social studies, information technologies and software, psychological counselors and guidance teachers mostly do not, half of the physical education and sports teachers agree and half do not.
