Abstract (EN)

The aim of the research is to reveal the social support levels of the students studying in different types of high schools in Konya province to participate in physical activities and the attitudes they have developed for the physical education lesson by using scientific methods. A descriptive study model was used in the research. The universe of the research consists of students who are actively studying in high schools of different qualities in Konya. The sample group consists of a total of 1658 students studying at Meram Anatolian High School, Konevi Anatolian High School, Mahmut Sami Ramazanoğlu Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, Hocacihan Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, Gazi Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Selçuklu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and Konya Sports High School. In the study, the personal information form prepared by the researcher, Farias Junior et al. Data collection on the Social Support Scale for Physical Activities (2014) developed by Küçükibiş and Eskiler (2019) to adapt it to Turkish and the Turkish population, and the Physical Education Attitude Scale for Secondary Education Students developed by Güllü and Güçlü (2009) was used for the purpose. Data analysis was done with the help of IBM SPSS 25.0 package program. Percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation were used in the analysis of descriptive data. The normality assumption regarding the variables of the study was evaluated with box-line graphs, branch-leaf graphs, Q-Q graph and data on skewness and kurtosis. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was used in the validity study. Cronbach's Alpha internal consistency reliability analysis was used in the reliability study of the scale. Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used in the relationships between scale scores. ANOVA and Independent Groups t-Test were used for differences between groups. The assumption of homogeneity of variances was examined with the Levene test. In cases where the variances were not homogeneous, the t test statistics and Welch test were used when the variances were not homogeneous. The suitability of the collected data for factor analysis was examined by the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) coefficient and the Bartlett test. As a result, it was determined that there was a statistically significant relationship between the Parental Social Support and Peer Social Support dimension scores of the Social Support in Physical Activities Scale and the Physical Education Lesson Attitude Scale scores, and that students with high social support in physical activities developed a positive attitude towards the physical education lesson.
