Zaydī and I'tizālī Tendency in al-Fādil al-Yemenī's Commentaries on al-Kashshāf

Fâzıl el-Yemenî has written two commentaries on the tafsir of al-Kashaf by al-Zamakhshari, titled Durer al-asdaf and Tuhfat al-ashrāf. Researchers have focused on Yemenî's commentary on Tuhfat al-Ashrāf and his tafsir Mebâhis in order to analyze his Zaydi and Mu'tazili tendencies. These claims have prompted a detailed comparison of Yemenî's two commentaries on al-Kashaf, leading to the identification of theological perspectives within the content of the commentaries. This study aims to determine where Yemenî stands in terms of theological beliefs when it comes to the commentary of theological verses in the al-Kashaf literature, to establish the relationship between Yemenî's commentaries and the works of other commentators such as Tībī and Ibn al-Munayyir, and to compare Yemenî's two commentaries. By identifying Yemenî's theological stance, this study sheds light on the place of his commentaries in the al-Kashaf literature.
