Authenticity of narratives about merits of Quran (Fedâilu'l-Kuran) and the imagination of Quran made by these narratives

There are Fadail al-Quran chapters in Kutub al-Tis'a (the famous hadith collections) under separate titles and a lot of narrations was transmitted in these chapters. İn this dissertation firstly, sources and contents of the narrations were explained, then some of the well-known reports were subjected to the isnad analysis and reached the following conclusions: The narrations about virtue of surahs Al-Fatihah, Al-İkhlas and last two verses of surah Baqarah have sound isnads. However, the narrations about surah Yaseen have weak isnads. Although the mentioned narrations have some features that forms "a sound Quranic perception", they have some objectionable sides. The Quranic perception that is formed by Quran and Sunnah is a meaning-based perception in which words and meanings of Quranic verses are considered together. However it is possible to say that Quranic perception throughout our tradition diverged to a literal and wording-centered direction. Consequently, there is an urgent need to an integrated approach to rebuild the authentic Quranic perception. Key words Quran, Narrative, Fadail, Isnâd, Jarh-Ta'dil, Soundness, perception.
