The effect of science technology society course to the science student teachers and the student teacher`s attitude about science technology society (STS) course

11 ABSTRACT The purpose of this research, named as "The Effect Of Science Technology Society Course To The Science Student Teachers And The Student Teachers' Attitude About Science Technology Society (STS) Course", to examine the effect of STS Course's to the science teachers' scientific literacy and student teachers' attitude about STS Course. This research was applied with at Kırşehir Education Faculty of Gazi University during the fall semester of 2003-2004 academic years. The model of one grup pre-test post-test was applied in this research. "The Scientific Literacy Test" which consists of 22 questions was developed to determine the changes the level of science student teachers' scientific literacy and "Science Technology Society Course Attitude Scale" was developed in order to determine student teachers' attitude about STS Course. The data which obtains from the data collection system was examined with "Descripetive Statistic", "Paired Sample T-Test", "Simple/Bivariate Correlation: Pearson Correlation Coefficient" statistical techniques. At the end of the research, it was found that there is a meaningful different relationship between the science student teachers' pre and post Scientific Literacy Test points, the science student teachers' attitude is possitive about the course.
