Examining the attitues of science teachers about transition from primary to secondary education (TEOG) exam

The purpose of this work, by identifing the attitudes of Science teachers serving in Şanlıurfa about Transition from Primary to Secondary Education (TEOG) exam, is to examine whether there is an effect of genders, ages, teaching experiences and education backgrounds variables on these manners.Our study was carried out with the participation of 126 Science teachers who set as 79 men, 47 women serving at 5 private schools, 47 village schools and 33 central schools by the random method among Science teachers serving in Şanlıurfa.It was administered ' Attitudes Scale of Science Teachers about Transition from Primary to Secondary Educaion about the attitudes of teachers chosen by random method at private, center and village school in Şanlıurfa about Transition from Primary to Secondary Education (TEOG) exam applied in 2013-2014 Academic Year, also to examine these attitues according to theachers's genders, ages, teaching experiences and education background in research and its results were analyzed. Survey results were analyzed with SPSS software and were examined the attitues of the teachers about Transition from Primary to Secondary Education with T-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) by using descriptive statistics. T-test was used to determine whether there is a significant difference as statistical between the attitudes against TEOG exam with genders of the science teachers and it was seemed that there is not a significant difference as statistical between the attitudes against TEOG exam with genders of the science teachers.One-way analysis of variance was applied each of them seperately to determine whether there is a significant difference as statistical between the attitudes against TEOG exam with genders, teaching experiences and education backgrounds of the science teachers. It was seen that there is not a significant difference as statistical according to the results of one-way analysis of variance.It was identified that there is not a significant difference according to the attitudes about Transition from Primary to Secondary Education (TEOG) exam according to genders, ages, teaching experiences and education backgrounds of science teachers and when checking the average of the answers given to substances, it was understood that Science teachers were satisfied with TEOG exam.
