The mediating role of authenticity in explaining dati̇ng vi̇olence and life tendency to forgiveness with psychological flexibility

The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of authenticity in the relationship in explaining dating violence and forgiveness tendency with psychological flexibility in individuals aged 17-57 years. The study group of research was selected with a convenient sampling method, which is a type of easily accessible sampling method, which is one of the non-random sampling methods. In accordance with the purpose of the research, 381 (230 female, 150 male) people were reached. "Personal Information Form", "Dating Violence Attitude Scale", "Heartland Forgiveness Scale", "Relationship Authenticity Scale" and "Psychological Resilience Scale" were used to collect the data for the study. In data analysis, Pearson correlation, descriptive statistics, and the Ordinary Least Squares Regression-based approach were used to test the significance of the investigated model. Finally, the Bootstrap method was used for mediation analysis. According to the findings obtained from the study, the full mediating role of authenticity in the relationship between dating violence and psychological flexibility in individuals aged 17-57 was statistically significant. It has been concluded that authenticity does not act as a mediator in the relationship between forgiveness and psychological flexibility. However, it was concluded that the relationship between forgiveness and psychological flexibility was statistically significant. Finally, the findings were discussed and evaluated within the scope of the research. In addition, suggestions for future research and practitioners were also made.
