Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the level of physical activity and teacher behavior of primary school students in physical education and game lessons and to evaluate them with traditional children's games based on movement. The research is patterned on the "pre-test-post-test control group experimental model". The study group consists of classroom teachers and primary school students. As a data collection tool, Mckenzie et al. SOFIT, the observation method developed by (1991), was used. The distributions of the data obtained from the observations made to the study and control groups are given as percent (%) and frequency (f). The differences in the scores between the study group and the control group before and after the observations were analyzed by the Paired t test. The physical activity level of the students according to the gender variable was analyzed by independent t test and the physical activity level according to the grade level variable was analyzed by one way anova test. The difference between the classes was analyzed by the Tukey HSD test. As a result of preliminary observations, it was found that the average high physical activity level of the students was 24.73%, there was no significant difference according to the gender variable, but there was a significant difference according to the grade level variable. As a result of preliminary observations, when teacher behavior was examined, it was found that teachers engaged in the most observational behavior with 43.27%. In last observations, the level of physical activity of the study group students who study with movement-based children's games has increased significantly. There was no significant difference in the control group. When we examined the physical activity level of the study group students according to gender and grade level variables, no significant differences were found. As a result of the last observations, when we examined the teacher's behavior, it was seen that the observation behavior decreased to 34.37%, but this change was not significant. As a result, traditional children's games based on movement had a significant effect on the level of physical activity of students, but this effect could not be observed in teacher behavior.
