Abstract (EN)

In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of corrective exercises, which were planned according to results of functional movement screens, on jumping and balance ability of developmental basketball group at the end of 16 weeks. The average age of 25 athletes from developmental basketball group who volentered in this study was 13,5±0.522. Players, who volunteerly involved in this study, have regularly trained at least 90 minutes a day, 3 days per week for at least 3 years. Participants were divided into two diffent group: Control and experimental. In addition to technique-tactic, speed, and agililty exercises, athletes in experimental group (n=16) did corrective excersies, which were planned according to results of functional movement screens, 3 days per week, while athletes in control group (n=9) continued only their regular exercises. Age, height and weight of the athletes were recorded before and in the middle of after corrective exercises for 16 weeksbefore at the middle of 8th week, and at the end of 16th week. Statistical analysis and evaluation of the data were performed using complementary values, such as the standart deviation, via SPSS versin 20.0. Independent Samples T-test and Paires Samples T-test analyzes were used to determine whether there are differences between experimantal and control group, and differences between the tests which were applied to the study groups, respectively. p<0.01 and p<0.05 were considered as statistically significant. We couldn't identify significant differences between groups in terms of age, weight and height values (p>0.05) before and after the tests, whereas we determined statistically significant differences between individual in experimental group in terms of biomotor capability (p<0.01) (p<0.05). As a result, it was found that in atheletes from developmental basketball group, there was statistically differences between the jump and balance capacity of athletes who participated in planned corrective exercises and athletes, who did not perform any corrective exercises, in control gruop.
