Abstract (EN)
Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is called carbohydrate intolerance of different sizes, which is seen for the first time in pregnancy. The incidence of diabetes mellitus during pregnancy varies between 1-10%. The effect of recently discovered asprosin on functions and diseases related to glucose metabolism is being investigated. In our study, it was planned to examine serum asprosin levels in patients with GDM and to investigate the relationship of asprosin level with glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism and steroid hormone profiles. Based on this information, it is intended for determine how the connection between circulating asprosin, glucose metabolism, lipid profile and steroid hormones affects patients with gestational diabetes mellitus. In this study, 41 pregnant women with GDM who applied to the Fırat University Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology outpatient clinic and 41 healthy pregnant women forming the control group were included. At the beginning of the study, 24-28 days of the GDM screening week to form the group with GDM. from pregnant women; Blood samples taken after 8-12 hours of fasting before the treatment from individuals diagnosed with GDM after 75 g OGTT were applied, were taken into tubes containing gel and K3-EDTA to separate their serum and plasma. In order to form the control group, blood samples from individuals who were not diagnosed with GDM after 75 gr OGTT were applied, were taken from each sample into tubes containing 2 gels and 1 K3-EDTA in order to separate their serum and plasma. Height, Weight, Age, Comorbidity, Alcohol use, Smoking and GPAY (Gravity, Pariete, Abortion, Living) information were obtained from both GDM and healthy pregnant women who attendant in the study. At the end of the study, collected from all patients and healthy pregnant women from whole blood and serum samples which hemoglobinA1c (HbA1c) levels, asprosin hormone levels, steroid hormone (17-OH-Progesterone, Androstenedione, DHEAS, DHEA, Testosterone, Cortisol, Corticosterone, Aldosterone, 11-Deoxycortisol, Dihydrotestosterone, Androsterone, Estron, Östradiol, Pregnenolone, 17-OH- Pregnenolone, Progesterone, 11-Deoxycorticosterone, 21- Deoxycortisol) levels, glucose, insulin, triglyceride, VLDL, LDL, HDL and total cholesterol parameters were studied. Changes in whole blood and serum carbohydrate, lipid parameters and steroid hormone levels were determined in patients with GDM. Analyzes were evaluated in 22 package programs of SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences; SPSS Inc, Chicago, IL). In our study, when the GDM and Control groups were compared, Weight, statistically important relationship was found in the parameters of BMI, Glucose, HbA1c, Insulin, HOMA-IR, Asprosin, VLDL, T-COL, TG, dehidroepiandrosterone (DHEA), corticosterone, Östradiol, 11-deoxycorticosterone, testosterone, progesterone, androsterone, pregnenolone, 17α-hydroxypregnenolone, dehidroepiandrosterone (DHEAS) and 21-deoxycortisol. When we evaluated the correlation of asprosin with all parameters in both groups, a important relationship was found in BMI, Glucose, Hba1c, Insulin, HOMA-IR, LDL, cholesterol and testosterone parameters. In the GDM group, a statistically important correlation was observed in the parameters of insulin, HOMA-IR, LDL, T-COL, östradiol, and testosterone. As a result; Findings have been obtained to support studies conducted to investigate the role of aspirin, an adipokine, in diabetes metabolism. Especially following the fate of Asprosin hormone in GDM metabolism, new findings were found that will contribute to the research and improvement of this type of diabetes.
