Abstract (EN)

By the development of technology and the opportunities offered by the new media to express ourselves, privacy as a concept is undergoing a change and transformation; at the same time, we see that new surveillance tools have been developed in the name of security for people. Perceptions of surveillance and privacy have always existed in our lives, but with the advancement of communication technologies continuously change and development. Considering the public sphere and private life, these two spheres are in constant interaction and conflict with each other, especially the violation of social networking networks to the privacy of individuals, we need to focus more on surveillance and the perception of privacy. Where most of the internet and social media users in Kosovo are young people, the aim of this study is to examine new media as a realm of reproduction of surveillance and the change in the perception of privacy. In this context, semi-structured interviews of 18 undergraduate and graduate students of Hasan Prishtina University will be taken and their opinions will be evaluated.
