The place and importance of Turkish Art Music choir lesson in Fine Arts high schools

This study has been prepared considering that the students studying in Fine Arts High Schools to continue their Turkish Classical Music Theory Practice and Turkish Art Music Chorus course for four years in parallel, and to take Turkish Art Music Education, repertoire and theory lessons to a higher level in a higher education institution where they will continue their art education after secondary education. Accordingly, in order to ensure the continuity of Turkish classical music repertoire and theory development, it is a fact that in the Turkish Classical Music Choir Course in Fine Arts High Schools, music pieces which are both modal and are a great importance in the application of modes are needed to be performed and the Turkish Classical Music Theory application course and the Turkish Classical Music Choir courses in Fine Arts High Schools should be performed in parallel for four years. While the place, importance and scope of choral culture and vocal training in the choir is so wide, various practices are encountered in our country in Fine Arts High Schools that teach Turkish Music and especially Turkish Art Music. For this, the course curriculum was examined and the opinions of teachers and students were taken. Information regarding the continuation of the teaching of the course was obtained through implementing interviews. It is vital that the education of the subject to be given in the most accurate way using today's techniques in Fine Arts High Schools, which is one of the most important institutions where Turkish classical music education is given, which is one of the two main branches of Turkish Music today, considering the relationship between culture and nation. For this reason, this study is also important in terms of being a master's thesis subject.
