Abstract (EN)
Most of the newspapers and magazines that put their mark on the nineteenth century that is considered as the golden age of periodical publication, were published by the leading figures of Turkish literature. This situation brought a close relationship between print and the literature. The newspapers and magazines shaping the historical accumulation and being the source of collective memory, are significant for literature researchers thanks to the literary content in them. In this study, the periodical Hafta WEEK published in Istanbul during 1881 by Şemseddin Sami was explored. The study covering the whole survey of the periodical, contains four parts. In the first part, the political atmosphere of the period, the preliminary periodicals of Ottoman print history and Şemsettin Sami's publication venture in general and Hafta periodical in particular are explained. In the second section, the texts which are in the periodicals are studied by classification of the contents. In the third section, the choronogical, alphabetical and classified indexes of the periodical is presented. In the fourth section the whole text transliteration of the Hafta periodical takes place.
