This study is a doctoral dissertation aimed at evaluating the psycho-social status of individuals receive hifz education and determining motivating factors that provide these educational initiatives. The study, which focuses the hifz education in the historical process and the factors affecting this education process, is basically a mixed methodical study in which quantitative and qualitative data are evaluated together. Within the quantitative method investigated different independent variables- such as age, gender, family residence, average monthly income of the family, school graduation, education after being a hafiz, lack of social life, recommendation of hifz education, facilities of hifz course and goal of hifz education- motivation and psycho-social status and the effect on stress levels of individuals who receive hifz education were investigated. In-detailed information has been obtained from the individuals who receive hifz education under the qualitative method regarding the pre- and post-training and the ongoing process. The scope of the study is limited to individuals are educated in the formal Quran courses of the DİB in Turkey. The sample is composed of 1369 individuals who are educated in a total of thirty Quran courses from thirteen province. There are also interviews with 43 individuals. Within the quantitative method it has been found that the motivation and psycho-social status and the effect on stress levels of individuals who receive hifz education significantly related to the independent variables expressed. Within the qualitative method at the beginning of the hifz education, this training has been given a meaning of what it means, why and how it was decided; goals, methods, course environment and psycho-social situations related to the ongoing process; after the hifz education, the data on what to do within the scope of education, occupation and care were obtained. The quantitative and qualitative data obtained in the mixed method were compared with the different studies in the literature and some evaluations and determinations were made.
