Halil Çay's life, art and works

Music has taken its place in history as an important tool in conveying the feelings of human beings for centuries. Religious music, which is a part of this art and intertwined with Turkish music, developed with the tradition of the islamic monastery and hosted a great repertoire. Bursa, with the tradition of the lodge, has become a city where important musicians have been raised in the field of the Turkish music. Halil Çay, who was mentioned as one of these names in today's music and constitutes the subject of our thesis, was born in 1955 in Bursa. His interest in music started with the Turkish music chapters published in TRT and in the following years to year he proved his success in almost every branch of his musical activities as a composer, a udi, a kudumzen and a choral conductor. In this research, the life story of Halil Çay was tried to be conveyed from his own statements. Information about his composer aspect and his musical experiences have been given. The complete list of his melodies have been given with their lyrics and their musical notes have been shared with the readers in the appendix of the thesis.
