The impact of the corporate governance structure on the profitability of the publi̇cly traded food, beverage and tobacco companies

In the last 20 years in the management of the company the concept of corporate governance has become one of the most debated issue by academicians, the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and for the World Bank, Corporate governance has become an important concept with the emergence of scandals and accounting tricks in all countries. The concept of corporate governance is the combination of regulations and voluntary private sector practices, which enable companies to benefit from the long-term economic benefits of providing financial support and human resources without harming the interests of shareholders and the public. (Millstein, 1998) It has a strong relationship with the profit management applications of the concept of corporate governance. This strong relationship has been tried to be revealed by the effect of profitability of the board of directors and audit committee which is one of the components of corporate governance which have been researched by many researchers. The impact of the institutional structures of public food and tobacco production companies on profitability titled in my thesis, the importance of corporate governance, its structure, its purpose, its effects on the companies and the components of the corporate structure are mentioned. In our study, the impacts of the organizations such as the board of directors and the audit committee on the profit management were examined. The effects of profitability ratios on net profit margin, assets' earning power, equity earning power and profit per share are examined.
