An Analysis on the Haydar Ergülen's Life, Poetry and His Poems

Haydar Ergülen took place in the history of Turkish Literature as the representative of Turkish poetry, after 1980. The poet, who is an important representative of Turkish poetry after 1980, has written essays on poems, poets and daily life, as well as writing poetry. On this prospective, he has produced significant amount of poetry since he started his literary life. The focus of this study is the themes revealed in Haydar Ergülen's poems and the examination of his poems in terms of language and style. The poet, who gave examples of modern Turkish poetry, wrote his poems with a point of view that did not break completely with tradition. It is aimed to reveal the meaning areas that the poet wants to tell in his poetry. Themes such as childhood, loneliness, death, city, love, mother-woman constitute the main themes of his poetry. Our study named "An Analysis on Haydar Ergülen's Life, Poetry and Poems" consists of three parts. In the introduction, an evaluation was made about the post-1980 poem and the poet. In the first part, his biography and literary life are discussed. In the second part, the poems were analyzed in terms of themes. In the third and last part, the poems are evaluated in terms of structure, language and style.
